Quick Blog

I have twenty minutes before the bus boards and leaves the Chico Hot Springs in Montana, so my entry will be short.

Oh god...where to begin.

Here are some highlights that I promise to write about soon:

  • The bus is broken and leaning on one side. An emergency part has been overnighted to Broadus, MT which is where we will be spending the next 24 hours which also happens to be our driver's home town. I started a rumor that we were all gonna take shower's at the driver's mom's house. That's not true, but there are only 4oo people in this town so they might all let us use their bathrooms.
  • We've had one scheduled shower stop in 6 days.
  • Bus driver Dave is a Liar! He says things are a short mile hike in one direction and they end up being up to 7 miles long. There has been near mutiny on the bus.
  • There is a Republican Spin Master from DC on the bus who's job is to have focus groups and create media buzz. He is also a stand-up comedian from Brooklyn.
  • This is a scary thing for our nation!
  • We got denied camping at Yellowstone National Park because the Rainbow Gathering is happening in somewhere on the edge of the park in Wyoming and we were considered too much of a risk to the park (so we assume...that is not confirmed all you media types who read my blog...unreliable source, m'kay?) but we had to drive the four hours back to the Grand Tetons to camp and then make up the time. This really pissed a lot of people off.
  • No drugs yet on the bus or anywhere in site...but several boozing Aussies.
  • This trip is not for everyone...and I've had many moments when I've doubted if it is for me.
  • Germans suck. Yes, I am now a racist. Sorry Mike...you're the exception.
  • I'm tired, I miss my pillow and a real bed.
  • It is an adventure and time really has flown by. Not having internet or cell phone has been something and how the operation works is kinda interesting. I do like it, but there are a lot of sucky parts. I've got some good notes on that.
Okay...I gotta dash. If I am late for the bus, they'll leave. Nice, huh? I'm hoping to find internet tomorrow in Broadus MT tomorrow, but know I'll have it for sure when I hit Chicago on July 8th, god willing the parts show up for the bus and the townspeople can install it. It is just like having a giant VW bus.

I am in heaven.

So much love,
All the way from over here...
Linda
